When a young lady of Mexican descent (and in other Hispanic cultures) reaches her 15th birthday, she is honored with an elaborate celebration known as the Fiesta Quince Años. This fiesta is more commonly known as a Quinceañera (or Quinceaños). These names are derivative of the Spanish words quince (fifteen) and años (years).
A very old and beautiful tradition that began several hundred years ago in the Aztec culture, the Quinceañera is comparable to a “sweet sixteen” party which began in the United States in the 1930s. Many interesting and exquisite traditions are woven into the Quinceañera celebration.
In years gone by, fifteen was the age when many young Latina women left their family’s home in order to become wives and mothers. Today, symbolically, a young Latina girl enters her Quinceañera as a child, but emerges as a young woman with a new set of responsibilities.
At Gesinee’s, we honor that tradition and can make it even more special with our gorgeous selection of Quinceañera gowns to choose from. We carry a large selection of gowns in stock that will highlight the beauty of this unique chapter in the life of a young woman.
For the traditional escorts, we also feature stylish tuxedos for the chambelanes and stunning dresses and gowns for the damas. We suggest that three months before your quinceañera, you should definitely be checking out tuxedos, but it doesn't hurt to get a head start either. You can decide if your want the chambelanes to match the damas – or create a unique style of their own. Either way, our fashion experts can assist you with all the details.
At Gesinee’s we strive to make your special event a memory that will last a lifetime!
